NOTE:

The dimension -e- is measured at the front side sill edge -illustration-.

The dimension -e- corresponds to the center drill hole.

The reference points for the drill holes -j- are measured from the center of the side sill upper edge rounded section -illustration-.

For reasons of clarity, the retaining strip -1- is also shown.

-- Punch the holes for the screws.

-- Pre-drill the holes with a 1.5 mm drill bit.

-- Install the self-tapping screws -2- using the :VAS5036 at the highest RPM until the thread engages.

-- Now set the :VAS5036 aside.

-- Tighten the screws -2- to the lowest tightening specification.

-- Position the retaining strip -1- evenly in direction of -A arrow- with the openings over all of the screws -2- until the retaining strip touches the side sill.

Position the retaining strip -1- with a second technician so that all screws remain in the openings when sliding it on.

-- Push the retaining strip -1- toward the rear until it stops in direction of -B arrow-.
