Mass Airflow Sensor -G70-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing

Observe the following to ensure the Mass Airflow Sensor -- functions correctly.

NOTE:

If the air filter element is very dirty or soaked, dirt particles or moisture may have contaminated the mass airflow sensor and may be causing false mass airflow values. Reduced performance may result, since a lower injection quantity is calculated.

Always use an original air filter element.

Always replace damaged gaskets (leaked air).

Use a silicone-free lubricant when installing the air duct hose and gasket.

The hose connections as well as air duct pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Check the mass airflow sensor and air duct hose (intake air side) for salt residue, dirt and leaves.

-- Check intake channels up to the air filter insert for contamination. If a contamination is detected, clean the air filter housing of salt residue, dirt and leaves.

-- To install, insert the Mass Airflow Sensor -- -2- and turn in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Tighten the bolt -1-.

-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .
