- Torque Wrench 1331 5-50 Nm:VAG1331
- Gauge - Gap Adjustment:3371
Perform the adjustment to prevent noise from the rear lid.
The vehicle must be on all four wheels when adjusting the rear lid.
The rear lid latch -4- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have any oblong holes so it cannot be adjusted.
The lower left and right adjusting buffers -2- and the left and right side adjusting buffers -3- are not for adjusting. Their function is to stabilize and to cushion the rear lid -1-.
The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
The rear lid must engage in the catch without great force.

To adjust or check the gap dimensions, use the :3371 . Refer to the appropriate service information .
-- The rear lid -1- can be adjusted in the large openings on the hinge in direction of -arrows a and arrows b- by loosening the nuts -6- and the bolts -7-.
-- After adjusting, apply a corrosion protection to the hinge and bolts.
-- Adjust the lower adjusting buffer -2-. Refer to Lower Adjusting Buffer, Adjusting .
-- Adjust the side adjusting buffer -3-. Refer to Side Adjusting Buffer, Adjusting .
