Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

NOTE:

Only installed on vehicles with Diesel engine without auxiliary coolant heater.

The instrument panel is not pictured in order to enhance the illustration.

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the driver side footwell vent. Refer to DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left front footwell center console trim panel. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE SECURING BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If equipped, remove the knee airbag with bracket. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Remove the nut -1-.

-- Release the flat terminal housing -2- in direction of -arrow- and remove.

-- Remove the bolts -3-.

-- Remove the heater core cover -4-.

-- Bring the temperature door adjusting lever -1- into the temperature control door display control head into the position shown.

-- Remove the bolt -2- from the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- -3-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of burns by the metal surfaces on the auxiliary heater heating element. Heating elements can be very hot.

It is possible for the skin to be burned.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Never touch the metal surfaces of the heating element.

-- Carefully move the flat terminal housing -3- to the side.

-- Remove the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- -2- from the heater and A/C unit -1-.
