Overview - Drive Axle, CV Joint VL 107

- Outer CV Joint
- Only replace completely
- Removing . Refer to Removing the Outer CV Joint .
- Installing : Using a plastic hammer, drive onto the shaft as far as the stop
- Checking. Refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- Bolt
- 200 Nm +180°
- Replace after removing .
- Bolt, Loosening and Tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRIPLE ROLLER JOINT AAR3300I
- Circlip
- Replace after removing .
- Insert in shaft groove
- Thrust Ring
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Plate Spring
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Clamp
- Replace after removing .
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- CV Boot
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Material: Hytrel polyelastomer
- Clamp
- Replace after removing .
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- Drive Axle
- Clamp
- Replace after removing .
- Tensioning. Refer to Figure.
- CV Joint CV Boot
- Material: Hytrel polyelastomer
- Without vent hole
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Drive off CV joint using a drift
- Coat the sealing surface with Grease:D 454 300 A2 before installing it on the CV joint
- Clamp
- Replace after removing .
- Backing Plate
- Cap
- Carefully drive off using a drift
- Coat the sealing surface with Grease:D 454 300 A2 before installing it on the CV joint
- Adhesive surface must be free of oil and grease
- Inner CV Joint
- Only replace completely
- Removing . Refer to Figure.
- Installing . Refer to Figure.
- Checking. Refer to INNER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- Seal
- The adhesive surface on CV joint must not have any grease or oil on it.
- Circlip
- Remove and install using : VW161A
- Cap
- Always replace after removing .
- Removing . Refer to Figure.
- Internal Multi-Point Bolt
- First tighten diagonally to 10 Nm, then tighten diagonally again to the tightening specification
- 70 Nm
- Replace after removing .
