Plenum Chamber Cover, Removing And Installing: Installing

CAUTION:

The windshield -6- could break.

Striking the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2- to install them in the retainer -5- of the windshield -6- can cause the windshield to crack.

NOTE:

In new windshields -6-, an insert is installed in the binding profile -5-. Remove this insert before installing the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2-.

Press the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2- very lightly by hand into the binding profile -5-. Never strike or force them on using tools.

-- Spray the binding profile -5- with soapy water so that the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2- can be pressed in more easily.

-- Insert the flange on the right plenum chamber cover -1- between the windshield and the fender.

-- Make sure that the contour of the right plenum chamber cover flange -1- is positioned correctly to the windshield.

-- Position the right plenum chamber covers -1- on the retainer -5- and then, starting in the middle, lightly press it into the retainer -5-.

-- Remove the bracket that holds the lines for the spray nozzles, from the right plenum chamber cover -1-.

-- Insert the flange on the left plenum chamber cover -2- between the windshield and the fender.

-- Also at this time, make sure that the contour of the left plenum chamber cover flange -2- is positioned correctly to the windshield.

-- Position the left plenum chamber covers -2- on the retainer -5- and then, starting in the middle, lightly press it into the retainer -5-.

-- Secure the plenum chamber covers -1 and 2- with the retaining clips -4- on the plenum chamber bulkhead.

-- Install the seal -3-.

-- Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
