Battery, Removing And Installing: Installing: Notes

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

CAUTION:

If Battery -A- is not secured properly, the following risks can occur:

  • Shortened service life due to vibration damage (explosion hazard).
  • If the Battery -A- is not secured properly, the plates within the Battery -A- can be damaged.
  • Damage to the battery housing caused by bracket (possible electrolyte leakage, high subsequent costs).
  • Inadequate crash safety.

Only maintenance-free batteries conforming to standards "TL82506" (from 12/1997) and "VW75073" (from 08/2001) may be installed. Refer to the Parts Information.

Batteries from the replacement parts program have a base strip adapter for adapting to different clamping strips. Information on whether and how to use the base strip adapter. Refer to the Battery Owner's Manual.
