Charge Air Hose Connection, Threaded Connection And Clamp, Installing

NOTE:

Before testing or performing a repair, check all air guide pipes and hoses and all vacuum lines for leaks and secure seating.

The hose connections as well as the air guide pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure hose connections with standard production clamps. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

In order to be able to securely mount the air guide hoses on their connectors, spray the screws on the previously used clamps with a rust remover.

Removing the pressure hose

-- Loosen the screw on the clamp -A-.

-- Remove the pressure hose and clamp -A- from the threaded connection.

Installing the pressure hose

-- Push the pressure hose and clamp -A- all the way onto the threaded connection.

-- Tighten the screw on the clamp -A-.

CAUTION:

Always tighten the clamps -A- on the charge air lines to the specification Fig 3. An insufficient or excessive tightening torque can cause the charge air hose to come off the charge air pipe while driving.
