Turbocharger Vacuum Diaphragm, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the engine cover, refer to ENGINE COVER .

Version 1:

Fig 1: Identifying Vacuum Hose, Locking Ring And Vacuum Diaphragm Bolts

-- Disconnect the connector -3- on the Charge Pressure Actuator Position Sensor - G581-.

-- Remove the vacuum hose -2- from the turbocharger vacuum diaphragm.

NOTE:

When removing and installing the circlip the force on the lever system is to be kept low. Pushing down the circlip for example with a large screwdriver can cause damage to the turbocharger.

-- Remove the locking ring -4-.

-- Remove vacuum diaphragm bolts -1-.

-- Disengage the control rod on the adjusting lever and remove the vacuum diaphragm with the Charge Pressure Actuator Position Sensor - G581-.

Version 2:

-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the Charge Pressure Actuator Position Sensor - G581-.

-- Remove the vacuum hose -1- from the turbocharger vacuum diaphragm.

NOTE:

When removing and installing the circlip the force on the lever system is to be kept low. Pushing down the circlip for example with a large screwdriver can cause damage to the turbocharger.

-- Remove the locking ring -4-.

-- Remove the vacuum diaphragm bolts -3-.

-- Disengage the control rod on the adjusting lever and remove the vacuum diaphragm with the Charge Pressure Actuator Position Sensor - G581-.
