Backrest Cover And Cushion: Removing

-- Attach the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture VAS 6136 onto the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS 6095.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT .

-- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture VAS 6136.

-- Remove the back rest adjustment wheel. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTMENT WHEEL .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE .

-- Remove the trim on the door sill side, refer to DOOR SILL SIDE SEAT TRIM .

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side, refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM .

-- Remove the back rest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST .

-- Remove the headrest. Refer to HEADREST .

Vehicles With Manual Lumbar Support Adjustment 

-- Remove the lumbar support adjusting lever -2- using the Door Trim Pliers 3392.

Continuation For All Vehicles 

-- Open the retaining channel -5- in direction of -arrow-.

Cover With Map Pocket 

-- Remove the clip -3- from both sides of the back of the back rest frame -4-.

-- Fold up the back rest cover -1- slightly upward.

-- Disengage tension wire -5- on the left and right sides of the back rest frame.

-- Remove the upholstery clips of the cover -1- alternately from the cushion -4- and unclip the clips for the cover -1- from the mounts in the cushion -2- using a small screwdriver.

-- Fold the cover -1- up further and remove it from the cushion -3-.

-- Push the cushion -3- over both headrest guides and remove it from the back rest frame.

Vehicles With Seat Heating 

NOTE:

If, on a vehicle with seat heating, the cushion -1- or the back rest heating element -2- is faulty, always replace both components.
