Front Three-Point Seat Belt, Convertible: Removing

Refer to the special information regarding seat belt tensioners. Refer to BELT TENSIONER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4,02E,09G,02Q] [For engine(s) CVCA,CPRA,CPKA,CPLA,CJAA,CBUA,CPPA,CCTA,CBFA] Removal and Installation .

-- Remove side trim. Refer to SIDE TRIM PANEL, CONVERTIBLE .

-- Remove the sill panel strip. Refer to SILL PANEL STRIP .

-- Remove the bracket for the belt guide. Refer to Removing .

-- Guide the belt out of the belt guide bracket.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the belt -2- and belt relay.

WARNING: Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the automatic belt retractor -1-.

-- Remove the automatic belt retractor -2- and the tabs -3- from the B-pillar -arrow-.
