Rollover Protection: Installing

NOTE: Make sure there are no foreign objects in the shaft for the rollover protection before and during installation.

WARNING:

The rollover protection system has components that are under spring tension which can deploy if shaken.

There is the danger of serious person injury to the face and body.

Always install the Rollover Protection System Tool VAS 6750.
Do not let the rollover protection slide into the shaft by its own weight.
Avoid shaking or hitting the rollover protection system.

-- Make sure the Rollover Protection System Tool VAS 6750 is secure.

-- Guide the rollover protection slowly into the shaft.

WARNING: The bolts are meant to be used one time only. Make sure they are not used again.

-- Lift the rollover protection slightly with a screwdriver -1-.

-- Install the bolt -2-.

-- Push the tab -3- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the Rollover Protection System ToolVAS6750 from the tab on the rollover protection -arrow-.

-- Remove the Rollover Protection System ToolVAS6750 from the rollover protection and remove the screwdriver -1-.

Only for the left side of the vehicle

-- Install the new bolts -1-, -2-, -3- and -4- in the given sequence (tightening specification: 20 Nm).

Only for the right side of the vehicle

-- Install the new bolts -1-, -2-, -3- and -4- in the given sequence (tightening specification: 20 Nm).

Procedure for both sides of vehicle

-- Connect the connector -2- and lock the connector safety catch -1-.

-- Install in reverse order of removal.

WARNING: No one should work near the rollover protection.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4,02E,09G,02Q] [For engine(s) CVCA,CPRA,CPKA,CPLA,CJAA,CBUA,CPPA,CCTA,CBFA] Removal and Installation .
