Reducing Agent Tank, Draining
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Adblue®/Urea Recovery Unit VAS 6557
Evacuate
- The reducing agent can irritate skin, eyes and the respiratory system.
- If the fluid comes into contact with skin, rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of water.
- If necessary, consult a physician.
Make sure the reducing agent does not come into contact with clothing or the vehicle body.
If this occurs, wash immediately with clean water and then dry with a lint-free cotton cloth.
If the reducing agent has already crystallized, use warm water and a sponge.
Reducing agent that is not removed will crystallize and can damage the affected surface.
For information on storage and disposal, refer to Environment Protection Workshop Disposal! Ask the importer about storage and disposal information that is specific to the country.
- To prevent large amounts of reducing agent from leaking out when opening the metering line, wait for the recirculation process to complete, refer to SCR SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
The reducing agent tank filler opening is located in the luggage compartment to the right behind a cover.
-- Open the fuel filler cap.
-- Clean the area around the cap.
-- Open the reducing agent tank cap -1-.

-- Separate the coupling -D- from the shut-off valve -A- connection.
-- Stop the flow of compressed air to the compressed air hose.
-- Guide the hose -E- into the filler neck and all the way to the bottom of the reducing agent tank.
-- Open the shut-off valve -B-.
-- To empty the Adblue®/Urea Recovery Unit VAS 6557, hold the connection on the shut-off valve -C- over a suitable container and open the shut-off valves -A- and -C-.
-- Flush the Adblue®/Urea Recovery Unit VAS 6557 thoroughly with water after completing the procedure.
