-- Remove the starter. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG®)

-- Remove the coolant hoses from the transmission oil cooler and seal off the openings.

-- Disconnect all electrical connections from the transmission to the engine and free them up.

-- Install the shackle 10-222 A/12 to the transmission and hook the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KGVAS 6100 to the shackle, but do not lift the transmission yet.

-- Remove the upper engine/transmission bolts.

-- Before removing the last bolts, tension the transmission using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KGVAS 6100.

-- Remove the lower engine/transmission bolts.

-- Separate the transmission from the engine; when doing this, guide the transmission.
