Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Clearance

- Dial Gauge Holder VW 387
- Dial Gauge 0-10 mm VAS 6079
Test Sequence
Fig 1: Attaching Dial Indicator Together With VW 387 Dial Gauge Holder To Cylinder Block And Set Indicator Against Crankshaft Counterweight
-- Attach Dial IndicatorVAS 6079 together with Dial Gauge HolderVW 387 to cylinder block and set indicator against crankshaft counterweight.
-- Press the crankshaft by hand against the Gauge and set the Gauge to "0".
-- Press crankshaft off gauge and read value.
Axial clearance:
- New: 0.07 to 0.21 mm
- Wear limit: 0.30 mm
