Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder: Procedure

-- Observe safety precautions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Follow repair instructions. Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION .

The transmission is separated from the engine. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

For performing work, secure engine using Engine and Transmission Holder - Engine Lateral Bracket T03001 to Engine and Transmission Holder VAS 6095.

-- Pull off clamp -1- for the wiring harness, remove the bolts -3- and the cover plate -2-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- and remove the bracket -3- -arrows-.

-- Install Transport Arm T03002 as shown.

Pin -1- engages in cylinder block. Tighten knurled bolt -2- hand-tight.

-- Attach Engine and Transmission Holder - Engine Lateral Bracket T03001.

Tighten bolts -1 and 3- to 40 Nm, bolt -2- to 25 Nm.

NOTE:

Bolts are designed so that they cannot be lost.

When removing, the Engine and Transmission Holder - Engine Lateral Bracket T03001 must be held tense in direction of removal, otherwise the bolt -1- cannot be removed.

-- Engage the Lifting Tackle 3033 as shown and lift the engine out from the Shop Crane VAS 6100 using the Engine/Gearbox Jack V.A.G 1383 A.
