Hood Release Cable Coupling, Disassembling And Assembling

Disconnecting the Release Cable Coupling

-- Open the hood.

-- Unclip the release cable coupling -1- from the mount -2- above the headlamp on the driver side.

-- Pull the release cable -1- slightly out of the release cable coupling -2- -arrow a-.

-- Open the release cable coupling -2- -arrow b- at the same time.

-- Move the release cable -1- in direction of -arrow c- and remove it from the release cable coupling -2- -arrow d-.

Assembling Release Cable Coupling

-- Install the ball -1- on the end of the cable into the ball cup inside the coupling -2- -arrow a-.

-- Install the release cable -1- into the release cable coupling -2- in direction of -arrow b-

-- Close the release cable coupling -2- -arrow c-.

-- Slide the release cable -1- slightly into the release cable coupling -2- -arrow d- until the release cable locks into place.

-- Clip the release cable coupling into the bracket above the headlamp on the driver side.

NOTE:

Make sure the grommets -2- and -3- are secure when installing the release cable -1-.

• Before closing the hood, make sure the hood release lever and the cable are working correctly.
