Backrest Release Cable: Removing

WARNING:

Follow the General Safety Precautions when working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Attach the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136 to the Engine and Transmission HolderVAS6095.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT .

-- Secure the seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair FixtureVAS6136.

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM .

-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTMENT WHEEL .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE .

-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE SEAT TRIM .

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST .

-- Remove the entry assistance trim panel. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM .

-- Remove the cover and the front seat backrest padding. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION .

-- Remove the side airbag. Refer to FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WITH IGNITER .

NOTE:

The spring mat or lumbar support does not need to be removed when removing and installing the release cables.

-- Remove the eyelets -3- (2 pieces) on both sides from the bolts -4- (2 pieces) with the Pliers.

Backrest Frame

-- Unclip the end of the release cable -2- .

-- This is done by removing the end of the release cable from the bracket -1- in the direction of the -arrow- .

-- Remove the bearing -1- from the backrest frame -2- .

-- Guide the end of the release cable through the mount opening in the backrest frame.

-- Remove the left and right release cables from the backrest frame.
