CAMSHAFT SEAL VEHICLES WITH "New" SEAL: Removing

-- Remove the toothed belt for the camshaft and high pressure pump. Refer to TOOTHED BELT .

-- Remove the camshaft sprocket and hub. Refer to CAMSHAFT .

CAUTION:

The thrust pad will fall off the pressure bolt if it is turned backward too far. In this case, it is necessary to press the thrust pad back onto the pressure bolt.

-- Turn back the pressure screw on the seal puller until a slight "resistance" is felt.

NOTE:

The clamping sleeves on the seal puller have set screws. Only one of the set screws -arrow- tightens the clamp. The other one cannot be adjusted.

-- Mount the seal puller as shown in the figure and turn the set screw -A-.

-- Turn the pressure screw -B- until the seal is pulled out.
