Camshaft, Measuring Radial Clearance

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Plastigage®
Procedure
-- Removing roller rocker lever.
-- Clean the bearing and the bearing journals.
-- Place Plastigage® over entire width of bearing journal or into bearing.
- Plastigage® must rest in center of bearing.
-- Position the guide frame and tighten to 10 Nm, refer to Figure, without rotating camshaft.
-- Install the guide frame.
-- Compare width of Plastigage® with calibrated scale.
- Radial play: 0.035 to 0.085 mm.
