Oil Pressure And Oil Pressure Switch, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Oil Pressure Gauge V.A.G 1342
Voltage Tester V.A.G 1527B
Connector Test Set V.A.G 1594C

Procedure

Oil level OK
Engine oil temperature approximately 80° C (176° F)

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .

-- Connect the Oil Pressure Gauge V.A.G 1342 in the opening for the oil pressure switch.

-- Install the Oil Pressure Switch -F1- -2- in the oil pressure gauge.

-- Connect the brown wire -1- on the oil pressure gauge to the ground (-).

-- Connect Voltage Tester V.A.G 1527B using adapter cables from Connector Test Kit V.A.G 1594C to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- and battery plus (+).

LED must not light up.

NOTE:

If the LED lights up, replace the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .

-- Start the engine.

NOTE:

While starting engine, watch the oil pressure gauge and LED as oil pressure switch may open during start.

At 0.3-0.6 bar (32.5-33 psi) pressure, the LED must light up.

-- If the LED does not light up, replace the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .
