Oil Pan/Oil Pump Overview

NOTE:
If large quantities of metal particles or abraded material are detected during engine repairs, it may mean the crankshaft or rod bearings are damaged. To prevent damage, perform the following steps after completing the repair: carefully clean the oil channels and replace the oil spray jets, the oil cooler and the oil filter.
Oil capacities, specifications and viscosity classes. Refer to the Fluid Capacity Chart.

- Sealing Flange

- Must be located on dowel sleeves
- For removing and installing, refer to SEALING FLANGE, BELT PULLEY SIDE .
- Install with Silicone Sealant D 176 404 A2
- Do not lubricate or grease the sealing lip on the seal
- Wipe off any oil on the crankshaft bearing pin with a clean cloth before installing.

- When installing, pretension spring and hook in
- 15 Nm
- Oil Dipstick
- Oil level must not be above the max. mark!

- Clean the screen if it is dirty.

- Clean sealing surface before installing
- install with silicone sealant D 176 404 A2

- With pressure relief valve 12 bar (174 psi)
- Before installing, check to be sure both alignment bushings are present (for centering oil pump/cylinder block)
- Check if the oil pump moves with difficulty
- Replace if it moves with difficulty

- Replace after removing
- 20 Nm +90°

NOTE:
Be sure to allocate the correct piston when replacing the oil injector. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
NOTE:
Replace the oil pan screws.
-- Tighten the bolt in three steps:
