Oil Pan Upper Section: Removing

-- Loosen camshaft gears (refer to VALVE TIMING, ADJUSTING ), adjusting valve timing.

-- Remove control housing cover. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, TRANSMISSION SIDE .

-- Tension the chain tensioner -1- and lock it in place with a Locking Pin T10115.

-- Remove the rail -2-.

-- Remove the sealing flange for crankshaft -ribbed belt side. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, BELT PULLEY SIDE .

-- Remove oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION .

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 4- and the oil intake pipe.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Press the oil pan upper section off the cylinder block using a suitable screwdriver -A- at the areas shown.
