Overview - Oil Pan/Oil Pump, Vehicles With One-Piece Oil Pan

NOTE: If large quantities of metal particles or abraded material are detected during engine repairs, it may mean the crankshaft or rod bearings are damaged. To prevent further damage, the following steps must be carried out after the repair. Oil channels must be cleaned carefully; replace oil spray jets, engine oil cooler and oil filter.

Oil spray nozzle and pressure relief valve, refer to Figure.

1. Bolt
   • 8 Nm
   • Self-locking
   • Replace after removing
2. Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-
   • Removing and installing, refer to Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266- .
3. Seal
   • Replace after removing
4. Oil drain plug
   • 30 Nm
5. Seal
   • Replace after removing
6. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 3.
7. Oil Pan
   • Removing and installing, refer to OIL PAN .
8. O-Ring
   • Replace after removing
9. Bolt
   • Bolt with Torx®-internal drive: 12 Nm + 180°
   • Bolt with hex fitting-external drive: 10 Nm + 180°
   • Replace after removing

     Pay attention to the different bolted connections:

10. Oil Pump
    • with vacuum pump
    • Removing and installing, refer to OIL PUMP .
11. Alignment Sleeve
12. Toothed Belt
    CAUTION: Do not kink, turn or damage the toothed belt with sharp edges!
    • Removing: 
      • Refer to OIL PUMP 
      • Refer to SEALING FLANGE, BELT PULLEY SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
13. Seal
    • Replace after removing
14. Alignment Sleeve
15. Cylinder block
16. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing
17. Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-
    • Removing and installing, refer to Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428- .
18. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
19. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
20. Oil Dipstick Tube
21. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
22. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing
23. Bolt
    • 8 Nm + 90° turn
24. Splash Wall
25. Oil intake pipe
