Transmission Fluid, Draining And Filling: Draining

Use a clean container that holds at least 3 liters (3.17 quarts) with a scale printed on it to catch the transmission fluid.
- The gearshift shaft is secured, refer to Figure.
-- Remove the fluid drain plug -arrow 1- and the pivot pin -arrow 2- for the selector forks and drain the transmission fluid.
-- Install the pivot pin -arrow 2- with a new O-ring.
-- Install the fluid drain plug -arrow 1- , refer to -item 15- in TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND CLUTCH HOUSING OVERVIEW for the tightening specification.
-- Rotate the locking pin -A- back into its starting position in the -direction of the arrow- so that the gear shift shaft moves freely.
