Shift Lever And Housing Overview

NOTE:
Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces. Use the correct grease.
Shift mechanism disassembly and assembly, refer to SHIFT MECHANISM .
- Base Plate
- Bend the tabs in order to remove.
- Always replace after removing.
- Gasket
- Always replace.
- Shift Lever
- Can be removed and installed with the shift lever guide -item 15- installed.
- Washer
- Slide onto the shift lever as far as the stop -arrow- .
- Lock Washer
- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them.
- Always replace after removing.
- Selector Cable
- Pry off of the selector bracket.
- Press onto the selector bracket inside the shift mechanism.
- Installed position, refer to SHIFT MECHANISM INSTALLED POSITION .
- Bushing
- Shift Cable
- Pry off of shift lever guide.
- Press onto the shift lever guide -15- inside the shift mechanism.
- Installed position, refer to SHIFT MECHANISM INSTALLED POSITION .
- Sound Insulation
- Bearing shell
- Will get damaged when being removed.
- Always replace after removing.
- Bushing
- Lock Washer
- Removing and installing, refer to Fig 2.
- Pressure Spring
- Removing and installing, refer to Fig 2.
- Bushing
- Shift Lever Guide
- Nut
- M8 - 25 Nm
- M6 - 8 Nm
- Quantity: 4
- Gasket
- Between the shift housing and the underbody.
- Replace after removing the shift housing.
- Self-adhesive.
- Affix to the shift housing.
- Shift Housing
- With spring and selector bracket.
- Spring and selector bracket cannot be removed.
-- Hold the shift lever -2- tight.
-- Push the bushing -3- down, in the -direction of the arrow- .
-- Remove the lock washer -1- .
