Fuel Injectors, Adapting Correction Values

The "injector quantity calibration" corrects the injection quantity for each cylinder individually in the Common Rail System over the entire characteristic map.

The 7-digit adaptation values are stamped on each injector (example). The stamped values can be letters and/or numbers.

After replacing an injector, the adaptation value must be programmed into the engine control.
After replacing the engine control modules, the "adaptation values for the fuel injectors" must be transferred into the engine control module.
Also check the other fuel injectors regarding "injector quantity calibration" whether all the values were entered correctly. If the correct comparison value have been stored in the engine control module, then these comparison value must never be re-entered.
The procedure for doing the adaptation is described in "Guide Fault Finding". (The procedures are also described in "Guided Fault Finding".) To do this, use a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
