Crankshaft Needle Bearing, Replacing

Only for Vehicles Equipped with a DSG^® Transmission

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Counter-support for example Puller - Kukko Counterstay: 22/1 
• Internal puller, for example Puller - Kukko Internal - 14-19mm : 21/2 
• Bearing Installer - Bearing Press Piece: VW207C

• The front edges of the internal puller must not be broken off.

Removing the Needle Bearing

-- Remove the needle bearing -1- from the crankshaft -2- using a commercially available internal puller for example the : 21/2  and counter support for example the : 22/1  .

-- The internal puller must be positioned behind the needle ring -arrow-.

Installing

-- Clean the bearing seat in the crankshaft and apply a thin coat of grease.

-- Drive the needle bearing into the crankshaft using the : VW207C  .

Installation Depth -a- = 2.0 mm.
