Transmission Coolant Valve -N488-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH DSG TRANSMISSION: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Hose Clamps - Up To 25 mm:3094
Hose Clip Pliers:VAS6362

CAUTION:

The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is warm. There is a risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

Scalding the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

Wear safety gloves.
Wear protective eyewear.
Reduce the pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and carefully opening it.

-- Open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- to reduce the pressure and reseal.

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Clamp off the coolant hoses at the Transmission Coolant Valve -N488- using the :3094 .

NOTE:

Cover the opening of the transmission with a cleaning cloth, so that no coolant enters the clutch housing.

-- Loosen the clamps -2- and remove the coolant hoses.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and then remove the Transmission Coolant Valve -N488-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

NOTE:

Secure all hose connections with standard production hose clamps. Refer to the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Check the coolant level. Refer to Check the coolant level in the coolant expansion tank -1-. .
