Brake Cylinder: Removing

-- Loosen the wheel bolts.

-- Raise the vehicle.

-- Remove the wheel.

-- Reset brake. Refer to REAR DRUM BRAKE, RESETTING .

-- Remove the brake drum. Refer to REMOVING .

-- Attach the bleeder bottle bleed hose -1- to the bleed valve on the brake cylinder and open the bleed valve.

-- Install the Brake Pedal Actuator VAG 1869/2.

-- Close the bleed valve and remove the bleeder bottle.

-- Remove the brake line tube fitting -2- from the brake cylinder.

-- Close the brake line and threaded hole immediately using Plugs 1H0 698 311 A.

-- Remove the brake cylinder bolt -1- from the brake carrier and remove the brake cylinder.

Cleaning:

WARNING: Do not blow brake system using compressed air, the dust produced is harmful to health!

Use only appropriate solvents for cleaning brake system.
