EGR Cooler, Checking Switch-Over: Procedure

-- Remove the heat shield boot.

-- Remove the vacuum hose from the vacuum diaphragm and connect the Hand Vacuum Pump VAS 6213 in its place.

-- Run the hand vacuum pump to generate a vacuum.

The change over linkage on the EGR cooler moves -arrows-.

If the linkage does not move or only moves backward:

The vacuum diaphragm is faulty.
The change-over flap for the EGR moves with difficulty.

NOTE: Install the heat shield in the same position.
