4/2-Way Valve With Coolant Thermostat: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .

-- Remove the air filter housing with the mass air flow sensor and connecting pipe. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- from the cylinder head cover. To do this press the release button.

-- Free up the vacuum hoses -arrows- on the air guide pipe.

-- Remove the bolt -2-, swivel the air guide pipe and intake tube to the rear and remove them from the turbocharger.

-- Remove the wiring harness from the bracket -arrow-.

-- Free up the wiring harnesses -arrows- and the connector -1- on the bracket.

-- Remove the bolts -2 and 5- and -arrows-.

-- Free up the electric wires and hoses on the left air guide pipe using Pry Lever 80 - 200.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -3- and remove the left air guide pipe.

-- Remove the coolant hoses. Loosen the clamps -1- to do this.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Camshaft Position Sensor -G40- from out of the mount.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and pull the front coolant pipe off the 4/2-way valve and move it to the side.

-- Pull the coolant pipe out of the connection -C- on the 4/2-way valve. Leave it in its installed location.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Free up the coolant hose -3-.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the charge air pressure sensor -G31- / intake air temperature sensor -G42- and remove the right air guide pipe.

-- Remove the generator. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Remove the clip -2- with the Pry Lever 80 - 200.

-- Pull the oil dipstick tube out of the cylinder block and move it to the side.

-- Remove the coolant hoses from the connections -A, B and D-.

-- Remove the bolts -3- from the 4/2-way valve -2-.

-- Remove the valve from the cylinder block.
