Front Three-Point Seat Belt, Sedan: Removing

Refer to the special information regarding seat belt tensioners. Refer to BELT TENSIONER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the B-pillar upper trim. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM, DETACHING AND ATTACHING .

-- Remove side trim. Refer to SIDE TRIM PANEL, SEDAN .

-- Remove the sill panel strip. Refer to SILL PANEL STRIP .

-- Fold the carpet to the side and remove the bolt -1-.

-- Remove the belt -2- from the bracket -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the belt -2- and belt relay.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and the belt relay -2-.

-- Remove the seat belt from the belt relay.

WARNING: Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1- from the automatic belt retractor -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the automatic belt retractor -1-.
