Front Seat: Removing

-- Move the seat as far forward as possible using the forward/back adjuster.
-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4-.
-- Move the seat as far back as possible using the forward/back adjuster.
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 02E, 09G, 02Q] [For engine(s) CVCA, CPRA, CBTA, CPKA, CPLA, CJAA, CBUA, CPPA, CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation

-- Remove the cap/carpet from the coupling station.
WARNING:
Electrostatic discharges can lead to unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore, mechanic must electrostatic discharge him-/herself before disconnecting harness connector. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.
-- Depending on the vehicle equipment level, disconnect the wiring harnesses from the seat at the coupling station.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Connect the Airbag Lockout Adapter VAS 6281 to the side airbag wiring harness -1-.
CAUTION:
The Airbag Lockout Adapter VAS 6281 must stay connected to seat until seat is installed again.
CAUTION:
If seat is to be lifted out or transported out of the vehicle, it must not be grasped by the attachments, for example, seat belt latch, lever for seat fore/aft adjustment, lever for seat height adjustment or seat trim panels in order to prevent damage.
-- Reach between the backrest and seat cushion with the right hand. Grab the front of the seat cushion with the left hand and lift the seat out of the vehicle.
