Lower Toothed Belt Guard: Removing

NOTE:

To make to production at the factory more simple, the lower toothed belt guard engages with a guide into the sealing flange. To disassemble the lower toothed belt guard with the engine support installed this toothed belt guard guide must be damaged.

There are different versions.

-- Remove the vibration damper, refer to VIBRATION DAMPER .

CAUTION: Carefully perform the following work procedures! By Damaging the toothed belt there is a threat of engine damage.

-- If the toothed belt guard comes out of the standard holes, set using the following dimensions:

-- Guide a screwdriver through the holes and break the toothed belt guard guide tabs rearward.

-- For a new version toothed belt guard place the screwdriver in the guide tab slot.

-- By turning the screwdriver in the direction of the -arrow- the guide tabs break.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the lower toothed belt guard -1-.
