Oil Pressure, Checking: Procedure

Oil level OK
Engine oil temperature approximately 80°C (176°F)

NOTE: The specified values pertain to oil temperatures from approximately 80°C (176°F). Remove the dip stick or higher oil temperatures. Check, if necessary, if the oil temperature for this test is too high (> 120°C (> 248°F)), and if the specified values are not attained.

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .

-- Connect the Oil Pressure Gauge V.A.G 1342 in the opening for the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-.

-- Install an old oil pressure switch into the hole on the Oil Pressure Gauge V.A.G 1342.

-- Start the engine.

Oil pressure at idle: minimum 0.8 bar (11.6 psi).
Oil pressure at 2, 000 RPM at least 1.4 bar (20.3 psi).
