Oil Pressure And Oil Pressure Switch, Checking: Procedure

Oil level OK
Engine oil temperature approximately 80°C (176°F)

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .

-- Connect the Oil Pressure Gauge V.A.G 1342 in the opening for the oil pressure switch.

-- Install the Oil Pressure Switch -F1- -2- in the oil pressure gauge.

-- Connect the brown wire -1- on the oil pressure gauge to the ground (-).

-- Connect Voltage Tester V.A.G 1527B using adapter cables from Connector Test Kit V.A.G 1594C to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- and battery plus (+).

LED must not light up.

NOTE: If the LED lights up, replace the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .

-- Start the engine.

NOTE: While starting engine, watch the oil pressure gauge and LED as oil pressure switch may open during start.

At 0.3-0.6 bar (32.5-33 psi) pressure, the LED must light up.

-- If the LED does not light up, replace the Oil Pressure Switch -F1-. Refer to Oil Pressure Switch -F1- .
