DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743-, With Transmission Removed: Installing

CAUTION:

Never lift the Mechatronic by the sensor arm and never let it rest on the arm.

Replace the Mechatronic if the arm gets damaged.

-- Make sure the Transmission Input Speed Sensor -G182- and the Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor -G509- are installed.

-- Replace both -o-rings- if installing the old Mechatronic.

A new Mechatronic already has new rings.

-- Coat the o-ring with transmission fluid.

-- Carefully mount the Mechatronic onto the alignment pins -arrow-. The goal is for the sensor arm to be in its -installed position-.

-- The sensor arm must not touch the sensor wheel.

-- Do not pinch line.

-- Make sure the Mechatronic unit is installed correctly.

-- Tighten the new bolts -1 through 10- hand-tight.

-- Tighten the bolts -1 to 10- in the tightening sequence provided.

-- Engage the wire -A- into the upper and lower tab -arrows-.

-- Connect the connector.

-- Replace the transmission cover gasket.

-- Clean the sealing surface on the transmission.

-- Make sure the seal fits correctly.

-- Place the transmission cover -A- over the Mechatronic. Be careful not to pinch any wires when doing this.

-- Install the new bolts -arrows- and tighten in a diagonal sequence in stages.

-- Set new oil pump cover -A- in place and tighten new screws -arrows- in diagonal sequence and in several steps.

After Installing Transmission

-- Check the fluid level and fill if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID .
