Dryer Cartridge: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Torque Wrench 5-50 Nm VAG 1331
A/C Service Station VAS 6007A or newer model
Engine Bung Set VAS 6122

WARNING:

Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

Extract the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit after that.
If the refrigerant was extracted more than 10 minutes in the past and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.

NOTE:

Under certain conditions, the dryer cartridge must no longer be replaced after each time refrigerant circuit is opened. Refer to DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION , DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION , DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION , DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION , DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION or DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION ; Replacing components.

Extract the refrigerant using the A/C Service Station VAS 6007A (or succeeding model).

Environmentally hazardous draining of refrigerant is an offense punishable by law.

Function of receiver/dryer with dryer cartridge:

The receiver/dryer collects the fluid drops and then directs them in an uninterrupted stream to the expansion valve. Moisture which has entered the refrigerant circuit during repairs will be collected by the dryer cartridge in the receiver/dryer.
