Hydraulic System, Post-Bleeding: Post-Bleeding

WARNING: Only use new brake fluid conforming to VW standard (VW 501 14).

A second mechanic is required to assist:

WARNING:

A technician has to sit in the driver seat the entire time.

The brake pedal must not become jammed.

-- Press brake pedal forcefully and hold.

-- Open bleeder valve at brake caliper.

-- Press brake pedal down onto stop.

-- Close bleeder valve with the pedal assembly pressed.

-- Release brake pedal slowly.

This bleeding procedure must be performed 5 times per brake caliper.

Open bleeder valves in the prescribed sequence and bleed brake caliper:

Left Front Brake Caliper
Right Front Brake Caliper
Left Rear Brake Cylinder/Brake Caliper
Right Rear Brake Cylinder/Brake Caliper

A road test must be performed after bleeding. During this, at least one Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) regulation must be performed!

NOTE: To prevent the brake fluid from overflowing from the reservoir, the level must not be over the MAX mark -1-.
