Input Shaft Overview

NOTE:

Heat the toothed gear to approximately 100 °C (212 °F) using the inductive heat unit VAS 6414. Wear protective gloves.

Install all input shaft bearings using transmission fluid.

Always replace the grooved ball bearing -item 4- in Fig 1.

Locking Ring
- For the grooved ball bearing -item 4- and the input shaft -item 6-.
- Removing and installing, refer to TRANSMISSION .
Transmission Housing
Locking Ring
- Select when replacing the grooved ball bearing -item 4- and the input shaft -item 6-. Refer to Figure.
Grooved Ball Bearing
- Always replace after removing.
- Removing, refer to Figure.
- Installed position, refer to Figure.
- Installing, refer to Figure.
5th Gear
- Available as a replacement part together with the input shaft -item 6-.
- Removing, refer to Figure.
- Installed position: The surrounding groove -arrow- faces the grooved ball bearing -item 4-.
- Installing, refer to Figure.
Input Shaft
- With the 3rd/4th and 6th gear.
Cylindrical Roller Bearing
- With a locking ring.
- Removing, refer to Figure.
- Installing, refer to Figure.
- Installed position: the locking ring inside the bearing points to the input shaft.
