Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Be sure to check the expiration date of the sealant.

The sealing flange must be installed within five minutes after application of silicone sealant.

-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: approximately 3 mm).

NOTE:

The sealant bead must not be thicker than 2 to 3 mm. Excess sealant could get into the oil pan and plug the screen in the intake line or it could drip onto the sealing surface of the crankshaft seal.

Before applying the bead of sealant, cover the sealing surface on the seal with a clean cloth.

-- Apply silicone sealant as shown to the clean sealing surface of the sealing flange.

-- Set the sealing flange in place immediately and lightly tighten all the bolts.

NOTE: To position sealing flange with sealing ring installed, use Guide Sleeve T10053/1.

-- Tighten the sealing flange bolts.

-- Install the crankshaft toothed belt gear. See -item 2-.

-- Install the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .

-- Install the toothed belt. Refer to TOOTHED BELT .

NOTE: After installing, allow sealant to dry for approximately 30 minutes. Only after then may the engine oil be replenished.
