Removal And Installation: Pistons: Removing

The engine is secured to the Engine and Transmission Holder, refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Remove the cylinder head, refer to CYLINDER HEAD .

-- Remove the oil pump, refer to OIL PUMP .

-- Mark the installed position and to which connecting rod bearing cap and cylinder and the connecting rod it belongs for installing again later -item 2- O :Connecting Rod Bearing Cap.

-- Remove the connecting rod bearing cap.

-- Remove the piston and connecting rod upward.

NOTE:

Warm the piston to approximately 60 °C (140 °F) if it is difficult to move the piston pin.

-- Remove the locking ring from the eye of the piston bolt.

-- Remove the piston pin using the Pilot Drift VW222A.
