Brake Pedal, Disconnecting From Brake Booster

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Brake Servo Release Tool T10159A

Removing

-- If equipped, remove instrument panel trim panel in footwell.

-- If equipped and necessary, remove the crash bolsters -2-. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

-- To do this, remove the right bolts -1- and the brake pedal crash bolster -2-.

-- First press brake pedal in direction of brake booster and hold.

Retaining tabs

-- Insert the Release Tool - Brake Servo T10159 and pull it toward the driver seat while applying counter pressure against the brake pedal.

NOTE:

The pedal assembly must not move toward the rear while doing this.

This will cause the tabs -3- to be pushed out of the push rod ball head mount -2-.

-- Pull Release Tool - Brake Servo T10159 and brake pedal together toward the driver seat.

This will pull the brake pedal off.
