Left Coolant Pipe: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Press the release buttons and remove the crankshaft housing ventilation hose -1- from the cylinder head cover.

-- Disconnect the connector from the crankcase ventilation hose -1-.

-- Free up the vacuum hoses -arrows- on the air guide pipe.

-- Remove bolt -2- and tilt the air guide pipe with the intake manifold backward and remove from the turbocharger.

Vehicles with a DSG transmission

-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the coolant hoses from the transmission fluid cooler.

For all vehicles

-- Free up the wiring harness -arrows- and the connector -1- on the bracket.

-- Remove the air guide hose. Loosen the clamps -1- and -2- to do this.

-- Remove the bolts -2, 5 and 7-.

-- Unclip the wires and hoses with the Pry Lever 80 - 200 from the air guide pipe -1-.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -2- and remove the air guide pipe -1-.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and disconnect the coolant hoses.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Camshaft Position Sensor -G40- from out of the mount.

-- Remove the connector mount -1- from the coolant pipe.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -2- and -3- and disconnect the coolant hoses.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and disconnect the coolant pipe from the 4/2-way valve.
