Selector Shaft Seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing

-- Remove the relay lever with the cable retainer. Refer to Figure.

-- Remove the transmission shift lever.

-- Carefully pry out the selector shaft seal.

Installing

-- Lightly lubricate the outer edge of the new seal and fill the space between the sealing lips -arrow- halfway with sealing grease for sealG 052 128 A1.

-- Install the seal all the way without bending it.

-- Install the transmission shift lever.

-- Install the relay lever with the cable retainer.

-- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
