-- If equipped, remove the cap -1- in the direction of the -arrow- while releasing the locking tab -2-.

NOTE:

If the rear lid does not open, use the emergency release -4- through the rear lid trim panel to open it manually. Refer to the approrpiate service/repair/system information.

The emergency release -4- is only installed in certain markets.

-- Remove the rear lid trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the latch -1-.

-- Remove the nuts -2- and remove the latch -1- from the rear lid.
