Latch, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Open the hood.

-- Remove the bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the release cable -2- at the cable coupling. Refer to RELEASE CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If equipped, disconnect the connector for the Engine Hood Contact Switch -F266-.

NOTE:

The connector is secured on the upper left side of the lock carrier.

-- Remove the bolts -4- from the lock carrier and remove the latch -1- upward -arrow a-.

-- If equipped, guide the Engine Hood Contact Switch -F266- wire out of the lock carrier.

-- Press the tabs on the bracket together -b arrows- and remove the bracket -3-.

-- After loosening the catch on the bracket, remove the cable -2- from the latch -1-.

NOTE:

The Engine Hood Contact Switch -F266- is integrated into the hood latch and cannot be replaced separately.
