Suction Jet Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install In Reverse Order Of Removal. Note The Following:
Pay attention to the installed position of all the components.
Disconnect the connector couplings. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .
Replace The Seal If Damaged.
-- Guide the suction jet pump through the left opening in the fuel tank.
-- Guide the suction jet pump to the fuel delivery unit.
-- Reach in the right opening on the fuel tank.
-- Clip in the supply line onto the fuel delivery unit until it engages audibly
-- Install the suction jet pipe until it engages audibly.
-- Pull on the connectors and lines on the fuel delivery unit to check that they are secure.
-- Install the suction jet pump on the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-.
-- Lightly bend apart the retaining tabs -arrows- and replace the suction jet pump.
-- Check the fit by pulling on it.
-- Install the dry fuel delivery unit seal into the opening in the fuel tank.
-- When installing the fuel delivery unit and the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- pay attention that the sensor for the fuel gauge is not bent.
-- Dry the seal -1- and insert in the right opening of the fuel tank.
-- Coat the seal -1- on the inside with fuel.
-- Push the sealing flange -2- down on both sides against the spring force.
-- Bring both sealing flanges -2- into the installation position.
-- The arrow -3- on the fuel tank must point to the mark -2- on the locking flange -1-.
Risk of leaking.
- When inserting sealing flange, sealing ring must not be damaged or crushed.
-- Tighten the locking ring using the :T10202 .
-- Connect all fuel lines and connectors of both sides of the sealing flange.
-- Pull on the connectors and lines on the fuel delivery unit to check that they are secure.
Vehicles With Parking Heater (CANADA ONLY)
-- Pay attention to the installed position of the fuel extraction line for the auxiliary heater.
