Control Valve For Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-, Removing And Installing: Notes

CAUTION:

This procedure contains mandatory replaceable parts. Refer to component overview prior to starting procedure.

Mandatory Replacement Parts

O-ring - Plug
O-ring - Camshaft Adjuster
Seal - Housing

NOTE:

If the camshaft adjuster control valve -item ) OVERVIEW - VALVETRAIN - Control Valve (25) is diagnosed as faulty the camshaft adjuster can remain installed and only the control valve must be replaced.

-- Remove the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the noise insulation -1-. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying by the toothed belt skipping.

Only turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.

-- Turn the crankshaft at the toothed belt sprocket bolt until the camshaft toothed belt sprocket is at "TDC".

Remove the camshaft as follows:

-- Disconnect the cylinder 1 fuel injector connector -2-.

-- Release and remove the sealing plug -1- from the cylinder head cover by turning it to the left.

-- Secure the intake camshaft with the :T10492 , while doing so pay attention to the following:

Cylinder head cover -1- installed:

The distance -a- is approximately 1 mm.

Cylinder head cover removed:

The groove -1- on the :T10492 must be flush with the camshaft housing -2-.

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and the Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 - N205-.

NOTE:

For clarity the control valve -2- and the camshaft adjuster -1- are shown without housing.

-- Remove the control valve -2-.

Installing

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal And Note The Following:

-- Install the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
